The Teton Climbers’ Coalition (TCC) is pleased to announce that fundraising for The Women’s Grand Scholarship Fund, which has a goal of raising $115,000, has surpassed $64,000 in committed support, with nearly $45,000 already secured and $22,000 in additional major gifts pledged. This momentum is making it possible to achieve our objective of offering all-women guided climbs on the Grand Teton in perpetuity.

Since its launch, the fund has received a series of transformative contributions, including a $25,000 founding gift from Dawn Rucker and a $10,000 donation from Mr. and Mrs. Ian MacLeod. Additional major gifts from Ms. Constance A. Kemmerer ($5,000) and Ellen Houlihan ($2,000), along with broad community support through dozens of individual donations, have helped build strong momentum behind the initiative.

As of early April, $44,898.66 has been deposited into the TCC’s Fund, which is being managed by the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole. An additional $22,000 in pledged support—including a $20,000 commitment from Norene Christensen / Four Pines Physical Therapy and $2,000 from Women in the Tetons—will further expand the fund’s long-term impact.

“The response to the Women’s Grand Scholarship Fund has been extraordinary,” said Christian Beckwith, Executive Director of the Teton Climbers’ Coalition. “This level of support reflects a shared belief that access to the Tetons—and the transformative experiences they offer—should be available to more women, regardless of financial barriers.”

The Women’s Grand Scholarship provides guided climbing opportunities on the Grand Teton for women who might not otherwise have access to such experiences. By removing financial obstacles, the program aims to foster confidence, leadership, and a lasting connection to the mountains.

The Fund remains open to additional contributions, with all donations directly supporting scholarships for upcoming seasons and the long-term sustainability of the program. Those wishing to support the Fund may do so here.
