Presented by Teton Mountaineering, The Teton Climbers’ Coalition is excited to announce its third annual AlpinFilm, to be held January 17-18, 2025, at Jackson Hole’s Center for the Arts.
The two-day celebration of mountain culture, cinematography, and storytelling, made possible in part by the support of Teton Mountaineering, Four Pines Physical Therapy, Spackman and Associates and other local businesses, will include the festival’s signature Photo Contest, as well as the presentation of the second-annual “Local Hero” award, submissions for both of which are now open.
The 2025 festival will feature enhanced volunteer opportunities as well, making it a true community celebration in the heart of American mountaineering.
Among other highlights, The AlpinFilm Photo Contest, which determines the festival’s official poster image, returns for a second year. Open to all who share a love for climbing and skiing in the Tetons, this contest encourages photographers to submit images that showcase the beauty and spirit of these iconic mountains and the adventurous individuals who recreate within them. The contest winner will have their image displayed on the official festival poster, alongside an award of $500, two 2-night festival passes, and social media exposure.
Whether you’re a seasoned photographer or a passionate mountain enthusiast, this is your chance to share your shot and win some incredible prizes. Submissions may be made here.
Also returning for a second year is the Local Hero Award.
Building on last year’s celebration of Linda Merigliano, a longtime advocate for sustainable climbing access and preservation, the TCC will present the second annual Local Hero Award during the festival. Originally inspired by the “Stewardship Award” presented to crag developer Tom Hargis in 2022, the Local Hero Award was established to honor significant contributions within the Teton climbing community. This award highlights individuals whose efforts in Stewardship, Advocacy, and Engagement have made a transformative impact on local climbing culture.

Support AlpinFilm through Volunteer Opportunities
The festival owes its success to a dedicated team of volunteers, and 2025 is no exception. AlpinFilm invites volunteers to join in roles ranging from event setup to media support, with perks including festival passes and exclusive AlpinFilm gear. Volunteering at AlpinFilm is an opportunity to experience the festival from behind the scenes, connect with the mountain community, and support an event rooted in Jackson’s climbing culture.
Festival with a Purpose
All proceeds from AlpinFilm go directly to support the Teton Climbers’ Coalition, a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to stewardship, advocacy, and engagement for the Teton climbing community. As Jackson’s climbing culture continues to thrive, AlpinFilm stands as both a celebration and a fundraiser, ensuring that these mountain spaces remain protected and accessible for generations to come.
